Welcome to our Library

"As in any other business,
so with beekeeping,
it pays well to lay broad and deep
the foundations of an education
to fit one for the purpose in hand."

(Gilbert Barratt 1931)

Who to Contact and Lending Rules

Our Branch Librarian looking forward to hearing from you. Please contact her if you wish to borrow any of our library resources.
Our loan system is simple but flexible: arrange to collect and return items directly to and from our Librarian at home, or alternatively, via Branch Members' meetings.
The lending period is 4 weeks per item, although you are welcome to extend this should there be no waiting list at the end of your loan time.
Please do remember to notify our Librarian should you pass the stock onto another member acting as courier for ease of return, so that items can be tracked.
Naturally, we would be grateful for any damaged or lost items to be replaced.

Our Resources

The Library has recently been modernised, in order to support the Membership across a broad range of beekeeping related subjects. Please see our Catalogue
Our aim is to maintain the Library as an educational resource, by providing a balance of both classic beekeeping texts and more recent publications, to complement the topical information that can be accessed via the internet.
There are a variety of materials on offer - not only books and pamphlets, but DVDs and CD-ROMs too.
We hope that all members will find something of practical use or of personal interest featured within the current stocklist.
We have secured a modest annual budget to allow us to take advantage of new publications, thereby keeping the library up to date, so please do inform us if you have any particular suggestions for future consideration.
