Next Show Thursday 18 October 2012

The purpose of a honey show is to have honey and other hive products such as wax and mead assessed by an expert judge.  The feedback that all participants receive is very helpful in maintaining quality standards.  There are awards for all classes.

The four principal awards are the Thorp Cup for the best overall show results, the Nancy Wilshire Rosebowl for the best honey cake, the Jack Taylor Plaque for the best honey in the cottager class and, new in 2011, the Bernard Collins Trophy for the best entry in the show.

Guidance notes kindly compiled by Nigel Coad for those with limited show experience may be downloaded

For general information, the 2011 Honey Show schedule and entry instructions may be downloaded, but this will be reviewed and maybe changed for the 2012 Show
